Summit Point, WV – Topping off an already outstanding weekend, D&N Motorsports Crew Chief Don Short was co-awarded the Ironclad Gloves Crew Chief of the Day Award along with the Chief from the Motorkars Audi team.
Don worked hard all weekend long collecting data and servicing the car between sessions to make sure the No. 24 Saturn was running at top performance for Sunday’s feature race. His efforts paid off when the race leader dropped out early in the race with a mechanical problem and his driver, Dennis Short, took over the race lead and put the teams first USTCC win on the books.
DON SHORT, CREW CHIEF, NO. 24 SATURN SW2: “I didn’t really do much, but thanks anyway.”
DENNIS SHORT, OWNER/DRIVER, NO. 24 SATURN SW2: “I can’t tell you how fortunate I am to have my dad as crew chief. We both love motor racing, and it’s nice to be able to spend time together doing something that we enjoy. Trust is a big part of it as well, and it feels good to be able to get into the car and not have to worry if everything has been checked and serviced. I’m proud of him, it was a well deserved award.”
